So, any advice as to what to go for so I can just get back to making (hopefully software hassle-free!) music here would be VERY much appreciated. The last time I looked to upgrade anything of the music-making front was well over a decade ago now so, going on that premise, if I get a newer rig that is compatble with this AR bundle I've just purchased, I probably won't be looking to upgrade for at least another decade! (My studio is off-line so well away from that Apple App store hence me not attempting to update anything until very recently which is when I got the G.A.S to go bite-the-bullet on this Waves bundle!) I have a nice BIG monitor screen (DVI port) semi-permanently attached to my studio wall which I like working on (the eyesight ain't what it used to be!) a decent pair of studio monitor speakers and a Focusrite 18i8 interface. Ideally I need something as stable as the system I've been so used to working on for all these years but more modern with enough power, capacity & storage to run such (presumably?) CPU-intensive 3rd party software. I feel I'm getting left behind here (plus I really like the thought of producing with this Waves Abbey Road suite!) WHY? Possibly down to the fact that my existing music set up this end is practically PREHISTORIC! I'm still working with a Mac Pro 1 OSX 10.7.5 and the stock plugins in Logic 9.1.8 DAW! Here's the thing though, it still fires up each and every time and is ROCK solid (which I love!) That said, I feel it might finally be time to upgrade at this end. Seems I've opened a can of worms here though as, after an entire weekend spent pulling my hair out, I've only managed to get 5 plugins (out of the 12 included in the bundle) to work. OK, I recently had a moment of 'madness' (by my standards!) over the weekend just gone and availed of a pre-Black Friday deal from Waves namely: a good discount on their full ABBEY ROAD bundle package. Hi! I've been lurking here for a while and appreciate everyone's knowledge, help & advice.
